Possibly the guy I bought it from was the culprit to what you are describing of potentially being the problem with this amp. My Memphis Amp has never been in protect mode with my current setup or ways I've used. I just recently bought the Audiotek Amp a few days ago for $15, and haven't used it without the car on using power from the altenator. When I use the deep cycle battery I disconnect the line that runs to the altenator so that the deep cycle battery is the only source of power supply. I have the deep cycle battery in place for when I want to listen to music outside of the car when it's not running. The Proton D540 is a high current integrated amplifier which has been carefully developed with complete emphasis on the quality of sound. Abstract: A protection circuit is developed which protects transistors in the output stage of a high power amplifier against voltage breakdown as a result. Which means in short burst this amp can put out near 600 w per channel at 8 ohms and 1.2 KW at 2 ohms. This amplifier is dual mono design and has protons famous dynamic power on demand. The Speaker Protection Circuit has two main functions: to protect the audio amplifier and the loudspeakers during start-up sequence when the amplifier. Amplifier is in great condition with minimal wear. I disconnect the deep cycle battery from the line that connects it to the Altenator, and amps basicly making the deep cycle battery useless before turning off the car. For sale is a rare Proton Power D1200 amplifier. I also have a deep cycle battery installed in the trunk next to the amps. ![]() I currently have a 220 amps Powermaster Street Altenator purchased from Summit Racing Equipment a few months back that was installed by a master mechanic. I just noticed you said something about low voltage being a possible cause of the amp problem. jerrys This is by far the best sounding solid state amp I have ever heard when paired with my Valve Audio Lab MP-L1S Mk II, modeled after the Marantz 7 preamp. ![]()
